Our Unique Handmade Mobile Bars

Zyzzy Mobile Bar Oak Bar

One of the things we are really proud of is the fact that all our bars are handmade and absolutely unique. You will never be able to find them on eBay. It all started at the beginning when we all we wanted was keeping the costs down.  However, it turned out making our bespoke handmade mobile bars could be our main selling point and also another way to express our style.

In this blog, we would like to share with you step by step how we designed and constructed our first two beautiful mobile bars. The first step was to put down the construction drawing which might sound easy but in reality turned out to be the hardest thing for us.

The next step was making sure we’ve got the right tools to put all bit together. And as we found you can never have enough instruments! Luckily the nearest B & Q  is 1 mile away from us.

Setting up the right dimensions was what we did next. Determining the size of the bar is crucial as it needs to be suitable for spaces provided by wedding and party venues. What is more, it also had to fit within the stainless steel mobile bar stations which we already ordered.

The most exciting part of the bar making process was to choose the top. It had to be very solid and high-quality surface as we would use it constantly and put liquids on it. B&Q offers a wide range of oak worktops mainly for kitchen but they could work perfectly well for bars too. Here is the one we decided to go for:

The final touch of our new handmade mobile bars was to varnish it all several times. The polish we used was “Dulux Trade Interior Polyurethane”. Especially designed for ships and oak worktops.

And here is the very final result of our masterpiece. We hope you like it and if you have a similar experience with DIY mobile bars please share it with us.
