Having started our business very recently we have been trying to find the best way to attract customers and to drive sales through. Our first step was to spend substantial time and money on social media. Also social campaigns including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, and YouTube. We have to say generating unique and interesting content every day is not an easy task. What we discovered is that although these efforts bring us some bookings, they can not give us the pleasure of communicating with our clients face to face. This is why we decided to try something different. And this where the Gazette Wedding Show came to our calendar.
The first time we attended the Show was in October 2016. Regardless of how much we wanted to impress our audience, the truth was we were not very well prepaid for the event. With no banners, special promotions or colourful leaflets. We felt like the only way for us to attract people was to do what we do best – cocktails! And it worked… we had plenty of new customers coming to our stand and being interested in our services.
Now the second show was on 5th, February 2017. This time we knew what to expect and we started preparing 2 months before the event. Designing a banner with some very good offers. As well as, ordering decorations for the bar, making a list of tasty mocktails to give out for free.. all of these made such a huge difference at the end. We finally felt like we know what we are doing.
It was a lovely event not just because of the potential bookings we might get from it. But also because it is a good opportunity for networking with other people from the sector. We made some connections with florists, makeup artists, wedding planners, photographers and different venues.
Overall, it was a very successful day for us and we would definitely recommend to everyone in the catering business to give it a try.
